Plot

At Beverly Beverly High, Spencer is explaining his plans for the school talent show to Rajeev, Shanilla, and Billy. Billy acts scared of Spencer’s spooky plans, but tries to act nonchalant and asks Spencer to continue. Kleet walks up and attempts to make fun of Spencer’s plans, but Spencer defends his use of special effects, overheard by a disapproving Principal Ponzi. He forbids Spencer from using any “special effects” in the talent show, citing the last time they caused a disturbance to other students. Ponzi tells Spencer that his special effects are permanently banned from the school and that he’ll need to do something else for the talent show as Kleet looks on and laughs, convinced that Spencer will fail.

In Spencer’s room, he laments to Billy that he only entered the talent contest so that he could show off his horror effects and wonders what else he could do. Billy gives a couple of suggestions that Spencer isn’t keen on, saying he could never outperform the other students as they have professional assistance. Billy then offers to teach Spencer to play guitar and when that doesn’t work out, they get the idea to have Billy play along with Spencer onstage. As Spencer leaves, Billy smells his mom’s brownies and goes back inside to get some, promising Spencer that he’ll catch up. As Billy eats the brownie batter, Hugh shows off his “underwear cannon” to use at the talent show. Jane then mixes up the batter, causing Billy to get scrambled up and pulled apart before the batter is placed in the oven with him unable to escape.

At the school auditorium, Ponzi welcomes everyone to the talent show as Spencer nervously looks around for Billy. The other students perform and Ponzi is not impressed with them. Spencer tries to call Billy’s phone multiple times, but it only goes to voicemail. Finally, it’s Spencer’s turn to perform and Kleet shoves him onstage. Hugh launches a bra at him, attracting his attention to his parents and the pan of brownies that his mom is holding with Billy mixed into it. Ponzi tells Spencer to perform or get off the stage. Spencer tries to play the guitar, sounding horrible, and Jane offers her brownies to the students and staff as compensation. One brownie, containing Billy’s mouth, wrenches free and is able to move along the floor. Some of the other students eat the other brownies with Billy’s various other body parts mixed in and a ghostly effect takes them over. The ghostified students then approach Spencer, take his guitar, and dance around him, amazing the audience. Billy, still in the brownie, then jumps onstage and finds his way to Spencer, who is happy to see him and runs backstage to talk to him, drawing Ponzi’s suspicion.

Spencer warns Billy that if everyone went home with a piece of him in their stomach he would be “history.” Billy suggests finding a way to get everyone to open their mouth wide before Ponzi steals the brownie from Spencer and eats it, taking on the same ghostly effect as the others. Billy cries out for help within Ponzi and Spencer tries to get him out, but Ponzi walks onto the stage and starts dancing alongside the other students. Ponzi then steps in and says that he forbade Spencer from using special effects and so he was therefore disqualified, making the crowd boo him.
